Dr. Jenny Ting, is a William Rand Kenan Professor of Genetics at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is also the Director for the Center for Translational Immunology and Co-Director for the Inflammatory Disease Institute at UNC. She received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
Dr. Ting’s research focuses on the application of molecular biology to unveil new pathways that impact immunity and inflammation. Her current work focuses on the NLR gene family and AIM2 innate immune sensors/receptors. Her work showed that these proteins are increasingly found to affect diseases of high impact in human health, including autoimmune disorders, cancer and metabolic diseases. She has also initiated research to employ nanoparticles for the delivery of immune modulators for a variety of diseases.
